IN THE BELLY

IN THE BELLY is an audiovisual exploration of our instinctive side, the side that connects us all. It seeks and questions the boundary between inside and outside, between life and death, between body and mind, and between fleeing and chasing. It is built on the cyclic rhythm of life, that which connects us to our ancestors and future generations. It relates to the cycle of birth/death/(re)birth and uses the existential experience of every human being who is born into this life and will die and be born again. In this way we are all intertwined. IN THE BELLY focuses on the psychic or internal experience of this entanglement rather than its more external aspects. At the same time, the work relates strongly to the body of the viewer and the physicality of our human experience.
